The Labrador Retriever is without doubt the most popular breed of working gundog in the British Isles today, renowned as an excellent companion whether sitting by the owner’s side at a driven pheasant shoot, in a pigeon hide or on the foreshore in the middle of winter ready to swim into the cold river to collect geese or ducks that may have fallen to the owners gun.
